Our Beliefs

We are broad embracing, inviting anyone who wishes to dialog about the role of faith in academics to become a part of the discussion.  However, it is good to know where we are coming from and what we believe.

The Bible

The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible as given in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that the Bible is the ultimate authority in all matters on which it speaks, was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and is inerrant in the original manuscripts.

God

There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. God is the creator and sustainer of all things

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is fully God who also became fully human through being miraculous conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of all mankind by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in him alone, the only mediator between God and mankind. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, and then ascended bodily into heaven where he now sits in authority at the right hand of God the Father. He is the head of the church, his Body, which is composed of all believers living and dead and He will come again to the earth to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

Mankind

Mankind was originally created in the image of God. They sinned by disobeying God; thus, they were alienated from their Creator and placed all humanity under divine condemnation. Every person is by nature corrupted, and thus is totally unable to please God and in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit through salvation which is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes his righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified them in his sight. It is the privilege of all who are born again to receive the indwelling Spirit as a guarantee of salvation which assures them their status as children of God from that very moment.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to all. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually and fully indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power and control are accessed in the believer’s life by faith. Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit that they will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God.

The Church

God admonishes his people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement to live out as their sole ambition the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple people of every nation.

The End

Jesus Christ will return and resurrect the body of all people to an eternal state where believers will be in conscious fellowship with the Lord to everlasting glory and blessing while the unbelievers will be in conscious separation from the Lord to everlasting judgment and condemnation.
